    Pens and Plating.
    Wear Resistance:

Each type of plating has a wear resistance that indicates the durability and longevity of the plating. A majority of the value priced twist pens in the market place today are 24k plated. 24k pens are “flash” plated or in other words, the plating is extremely thin and in most cases is protected by a thin layer of epoxy. 24k pen kits are ideal for those who require the best value possible. A higher quality plating indicates the plating thickness and durability is such that it will not wear off at any time for any reason. This grade of plating is typically used on “high-end” pens that may sell for hundreds of dollars.

    Rhodium - Platinum Series
Possibly nature’s most brilliant and durable precious metal, Rhodium is used by the worlds premier pen manufacturers to plate their very finest pens. A member of the Platinum precious metals family, Rhodium sells for as much as $1,200.00 per troy ounce and is unmatched in brilliance and durability.

    Titanium- Gold
Titanium plating is very popular as it offers superior wear resistance yet is less expensive than other precious metal platings. Available in gold.

    10k Gold
This popular plating blends hard nickel and the beauty of gold together to form a brilliant plating that is durable and affordable. 10k Gold is guaranteed to last several times longer than 24k and is our recommendation for those who want maximum durability for the least amount of money.

    24k Gold
Our 24k range of pens share the same quality components found in our more expensive pens and are plated with 24k gold with an epoxy topcoat to increase wear resistance. Value priced, 24k pens are ideal for those on a budget or who want to explore pens with a minimal investment

We are pleased to offer a wide range of pen blanks to fit any taste. With so many fine pens to choose from, you’ll want to select the perfect pen blanks to match.

We offer a selection of wood from North America, South America, Africa and Europe. Wood can be straight grain, cross grain or burled. Please contact us for photos and examples of woods available. Some popular examples have been ebony, padauk, holly, bubinga, myrtle, cocobola, and bocote.

We also offer a selection of antler and horn. Water buffalo horn is ideal for creating unique, custom pens. The subtle pattern with an occasional light streak gives a unique look to this material. Deer and Elk antler will have a solid, bone-like appearance. Every antler is a little different. The horn and antler used in our pen making is taken from seasonal sheds from farm raised animals.

Dymondwood is natural hardwood veneers that have been impregnated with specially formulated resins and permanent coloring agents. These impregnated veneers are then bonded and densified under very high temperatures and enormous pressure. The result is Dymondwood, a totally homogenous wood product with a wide range of properties and characteristics not available in conventional wood as we know it. Dymondwood’s beauty, richness, texture and grain cannot be matched by any other natural material. The design possibilities are unlimited. It is stable and not affected by extremes in temperature, humidity, or moisture.

Many of the world's finest pen manufacturers use celluloid in the production of their collector grade pens. Our celluloid pen blanks offer unique patterns not found elsewhere in the market. Celluloid pen blanks can be polished to a glass-like finish with the end result being a beautiful one-of-a-kind pen.

Stabilized wood is a composite material consisting of plastic and wood. It creates a material which looks like wood, but machines and finishes like acrylic plastic. This combination of materials has been used for years to produce knife handles and other items which were to look like wood with a high polish, yet resistant to water, oils, and most solvents. The plastic in the wood fills the cells so the composite block is relatively stable. It will practically eliminate checking or cracking due to expansion or contraction. Burled wood and punky woods like spalted maple are more durable if they have been stabilized.

Please call to have a pen custom made with your material selection.
